Simon met his fair lady now just over two years, having found each other using 'modern technology' let's say. After just over a year together, whilst enjoying a pre-Christmas weekend away in Venice, and whilst suffering with man flu, Simon popped the question whilst overlooking the Grand Canal. She said yes.
Simon & Laura live in Bristol, with two cats, one horse and one tortoise. One day they are hoping to move to sunny Italy and start making bambinos. Before then however, they have the small matter of the wedding...
Ever wondered what a wedding is like from a Grooms perspective? Over the next 12 months Simon, one of the founders of The Bridal File will regulary blog about the preparations for his & Laura's big-day preparations!
So, here's the story so far...

First and foremost, this is not going to be start of our wedding story. Rather than 'pretend' to have been writing these blogs for months, I have actually started today. To fill you in on what's been happening however I will be writing a number of blogs and back dating them.
I wouldn't want you to miss out on anything that's all.
I am writing this because one thing that became immediately apparent when we got into the nitty-gritty of wedding planning, is that it's a very 'female focussed' process. Not that I wouldn't want every part of the day to be exactly as Laura has dreamed, but I (maybe unlike most men?!) actually wanted to be quite involved.
So, share this with your friends, make comments, and above all enjoy my journey which (fingers crossed) will end with me being a married man, and my beautiful fiancee will become my beautiful wife.
Enjoy!
Simon
P.S. Just to prove the authenticity of this blog, below is a photo of me coding this blog. Gotta love code. The presence of a peppermill is neither relevant, or important.
