Possibly one of the most important aspects of a wedding day for the bride is their wedding dress! Not only do they want to look beautiful, but they no doubt want to feel comfortable and confident in their choice.
With so many different shapes and styles out there it definitely helps to know the main ones on offer.

The most traditional of all shapes, the ball gown provides a fitted bodice and natural or dropped waistline that leads to a full skirt.
Great For: Slim brides as it adds curves, also great for pear shaped figures as the large skirt can hide areas of concern.
Bad For: Petite brides can feel a little drowned in all the fabric. The Ballgown shape can also be a bit unflattering for those who are larger on top as it can make them appear quite round.

The column dress has a narrow, sexy shape and usually hugs the body to show off all of your curves. This style will give you a sophisticated and contemporary look.
Great For: This style really flatters the slim body type and generally suits any height.
Bad For: Brides with fuller figures and larger hips, because of the narrow fitted style it tends to show every lump and bump.

The A-line cut is narrow and fitted at the top, and extends out along the body in the shape of a triangle (or 'A') in a smooth line. Although the lines of the skirt are always clean there are a number of different versions available.
Great For: The A-Line is great all rounder and generally suits most body types.
Bad For: Almost no-one!

The empire dress is a very elegant and romantic style. The skirt starts just underneath the bust. The style is usually complimented with a light floating fabric.
Great For: Brides with small bust, the shape is also very flattering for slim body types and is ideal for pregnant brides as there is no waistline to restrict them.
Bad For: The long line can make tall brides appear taller and for those wanting to hide a large bust this shape often makes it appear larger.

A sexy, sophisticated style with narrow figure-hugging bodice flowing out from the knee to provide a beautiful fish tail effect train.
Great For: Tall slim brides, petite brides and it is perfect for brides wanting to show off their curves.
Bad For: Brides with fuller figures who don’t really want such a fitted dress. Also pear shaped brides may find the dress highlights their larger hips.
