Celebrate the best day of your life at Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s iconic River Cottage HQ, based on the Devon/Dorset border in 65 acres of organic farmland, just a stone’s throw from the beautiful Jurassic Coast.

Getting married at River Cottage is a unique experience where the bride and groom share centre stage with the food. Couples design their wedding menu with the talented River Cottage chefs and kitchen team, wowing guests with the finest local and seasonal ingredients from the West Country, as well produce grown and reared on the organic farm itself.

Now fully licensed to conduct civil ceremonies and partnerships, couples can get hitched in Hugh’s famous farmhouse or beautifully refurbished barn with breath-taking views across the Axe Valley.

The threshing barn is a glorious space at any time of the year. Your guests are seated on two long banquet tables fit for the splendid feast they will undoubtedly devour. The barn can seat 64, and during the summer months a further 30 can dine on the adjoining decking area (complete with heating and marquee cover). In the evening you can total 120 so there is plenty of room to dance the night away.

The River Cottage vegetable garden is a gorgeous, tranquil environment for a blessing. Guests sit on benches and straw bales watching you walk through the organic veggies for your ceremony underneath a hazel arch woven in climbing sweet peas.

During the winter (or inclement weather), the yurt and the farmhouse are cosy alternatives to the garden where your guests can gather around roaring fires, twinkling fairy lights and sheepskin rugs.
