Enjoying your big day in the summer sun

Enjoying your big day in the summer sun

Jenny

That said, a summer wedding is really beautiful if it is planned in the right way. For starters you have so many hours of natural light to make the most of. If you get married in January for example, it will get dark in the early evening so your chances of taking outside photos are much more limited.

It is worth visiting your chosen venue beforehand and seeing where the natural light falls, so you can make sure that your photos aren’t taken in places where the sun is too strong and the brightness threatens to ruin your big day.

Making the Most of the Sunshine

Getting married during the summer months gives you the perfect opportunity to make the most of the sun. Why not plan your wedding venue to be one where you can have an outside space? People will relish the chance to be in the fresh air and during your wedding you probably will too! Of course, you should probably make sure you have a marquee as a back-up plan – we all know how reliable British summer is!

A Summer Treat

If you are planning some of your Big Day outside you could think about having this as your wedding theme. Picnic food can be really nice and elegant – and if the day is very warm people will probably appreciate this more than a large meal because we often don’t feel like eating a large meal when we are hot. You can also go for tasty, ice-filled fruity cocktails which always go down well, ice cream treats and decorate your outdoor space with bunting, summer blooms and fun games for you and your guests to enjoy.

Your Comfort

If you are getting married in the sunshine you’ll want to make sure that you are comfortable. It is essential that you wear well-fitting underwear because when you are hot and sweaty you don’t want this to be rubbing and making you feel uncomfortable – which is the last thing you want.

Pack a little bag of essentials to get you through the day – wet wipes are a must as you can use these to freshen up throughout the day and evening. A packet of tissues and a hand held fan would also not go amiss. Make sure you drink plenty of water throughout the day and sit down when you need to.

Enjoy It

Most of all, enjoy your big day! If you wake up in the morning and the sun happens not to be shining don’t let this ruin your day. Your wedding is the most important day in your life so don’t let anything dampen it! Just be prepared and you’ll be ready to enjoy the day with as little stress as possible!
