Situated right in the heart of Exeter, the historic Guildhall has been the centrepiece of Exeter's civic life for over 800 years, and now has opened its large oak doors for weddings and ceremonies. Bursting with history, the Guildhall has received royalty, dignitaries and now your Ceremony can be added to the list! We have two incredibly unique rooms for ceremonies; with a high ceiling, intricate panelling and stained glass windows our opulent Great Hall adds a majestic feeling to your day, accommodating up to 75 guests. If you are looking for a more intimate ceremony why not walk down the ‘aisle’ in our Jury Room, whose walls are lined with 17th-century panelling. Our Jury Room can host weddings of up to 35, whilst still providing all the grandeur of a larger wedding. So why not add your big day to the history of the Guildhall, and follow the city's motto Semper Fidelis - Ever Faithful.

"The Jury Room was the perfect venue for us, with just 16 participants and guests. The Oak panelled walls adorned with the portraits of past City dignitaries created a historic feeling to the proceedings, while the ceremony was relaxed and intimate. "Thank you very much for an excellent worry-free ceremony in The Great Hall. All the staff were lovely and ran things smoothly. We could visit previously to drop off our drinks and music. It was very helpful that someone played our music for us and our drinks were served. The room was arranged and chairs were put out for us. The high ceiling, beams and stained glass window are beautiful. All phone and email contact was pleasant and gave us all the information we needed. It’s so hard to find a ceremony venue if you don’t want a religious wedding or a hotel so this was the perfect place. "
